Query about state pension increases.

Options
Hi everyone,
My husband is apparently on the old state pension. He has the full one with guaranteed pension credits, with an extra amount because I have to live on it aswell. I am 65 and won't get a pension.

The state pension was supposed to go up by 10.1%, but my husband got his pension in today, and it's only gone up by shy of 5%?
We don't understand this. Is it the people who are on the new pension who get the 10.1%? Or, the extra he gets for me stays the same, and he gets the 10.1% just on the single man's pension?

We're trying to find an answer to it.

Thanks,
Candy.

If he receives it every four weeks in arrears, then it will probably include two weeks at the old rate and two weeks at the new, as it only increased on 10th April.
Has he not received a letter from DWP explaining how much he would be getting this year and how it was made up ?

I'll ask him but I don't think so, because he doesn't understand why the amount is lower either. You could be right about the pension  being paid 4 weeks in arrears, as it is paid like that.

    Thanks
