Upgrade USB2 to USB3

Windows 10 PC. Is this upgrade possible, if so is it low level DIY or for a call out specialist?

Do you know which PC you have? Better still, which motherboard it is?  Is there room in the case for some extra USB3 ports?

The work is all simple DIY, but there's a bit of a learning curve.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Couple of options here depending on the board and the case.

Expansion card is probably the easiest solution if the case doesn't have a spare port.

You might already have an unused USB3 header on the motherboard that just needs to be connected to a blanking plate with ports. Tell us the model number of the computer if it was a bought one or the motherboard model number if it was assembled from parts.

What motherboard and case have you got?
It depends if those supporting it. If not, get a PCI-E add on card.
