Sainsburys CC nectar bonus.bait and switch tactics?

I recently made use of the offer from Sainsburys credit cards introductory 10k nectar bonus for £400 spend at Sainsburys/argos in first 2 months offer.
I fulfilled the terms of condition set out in the offer and awaited the point award.
I received the 10k points, but it was taken back out a fortnighy/month afterwards.
I have been in a never ending loop between Sainsburys bank and Nectar help desk to try to find out what happened. After many weeks, Sainsbury replied later saying they had awarded the points twice by mistake and they'd reclaimed the mistake.
I checked through my activity and had only received the 10k points once. Nectar help desk has washed their hands of it saying its down to Sainsburys as they had fulfilled the obligation in their eyes. Still awaiting the answer as to which 2 dates I'd received the points.
I did receive 4k points previously for taking out pet insurance over a year ago but I can't find anything in the terms and conditions that would render my bonus invalid.
I hope not as I have taken 2 life insurance policies that are to award 22k each and I can't find anything in the t&Cs that would prove otherwise. I'm trying to bump up my nectar to trade in for avios as I have an Amex cc and have already earned my companion voucher.
I never had a problem with nectar beforehand but since I've been using every means necessary to rack up my points it seems they are making it difficult to claim those points(had a few more instances where I've had to chase several transactions that didn't register).
Are they baiting and switching?
Anyone else had a similar problem?

No. Bait and switch is something completely different.
This is confusion between you and Sainsburys as to whether you've received the points or not.0
