Missed Mortgage Payments in the past

Hello,

We are currently attempting to get a mortgage. We have been declined by Halifax as my husband has missed payments on his previous mortgage due to his ex wife.
These were missed over 4 years ago and the mortgage is now gone and cleared when the house sold 4 years ago.

We are now applying with Precise mortgages.

Has anyone had the same bad history but been accepted through precise?

I am so worried now.

In this situation I would use a mortgage broker and explain the full situation to them.

They would be best placed to advise what affect this may have and what products are available to you.

Good luck in your search, as MFB says, a broker can be invaluable in this situation.

It's all very well your husband blaming the situation on his ex but mortgages come with "joint & several" liabilities.
