Obscure glass for living room window?

The window company that came to measure and quote yesterday also recommended stick on films over obscure glass or mirror glass for the living room. The reverse problem at night with mirror glass (as some have already mentioned) just seems to be a horror for residential properties 😂

I would have thought that having permanent obscured glass would affect the value of the house by at least the cost of getting the windows replaced. I say "at least" as it might put some potential buyers off the house completely.0

What about something like this? You would be able to vary the height.
