Parking Awareness Services Ticket appeal denied

Capablanca

I recently received a ticket from PA for overstaying by 1 minute in a 20 minute parking area.
I should have put my reg into a pad in the shop but I wasn't aware a new parking system was in place and the staff never mentioned it.
My appeal was rejected. I should have seen the signs. There was no grace period and £100 is deemed reasonable for a 1 minute overstay by reference to ParkingEye v Beavis.
They refused to supply the name of the landowner they are contracted by on GDPR grounds.
I was surprised by that. I assume this information is available via the Land Registry or Companies House.
Just wondering if anyone had a view on this.
I'm going to appeal to the IAS next.
Either way I won't be shopping there again.

Plan A is always to complain to the landowner. So did you complain in the shop you were spending your hard earned money in?3

That is next on my list. It's Toolstation so I didn't think there'd be any point complaining to the staff.

Well you are mistaken. Go with your receipt or bank statement with proof of purchase and the PCN and (politely) demand they get this invoice cancelled.
They will be able to, so don't be fobbed off.4 -
You should also read the Newbies/FAQ thread near the top of this forum. Don't just skim-read it but keep referring back to it every time before you post a question on here as it is most likely that it is answered already in that thread.
Did you identify yourself as the driver in your initial appeal?2 -

You need to read the third & fourth posts of the NEWBIES thread and totally ignore PAS and the ensuing £170 debt demands.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They took the details off the letter and promised to get it cancelled.I'm glad this has been (hopefully) resolved. I'm pretty disgusted with the landowner for employing Parking Awareness when it's not needed as their small trading estate is not overrun with cars, and Parking Awareness Services who's business model is fleecing people for profit. Sucks to be them. Vultures.Thank you for your help.2

Good stuff. Did Toolstation say they would contact you to confirm it has been cancelled?
It might be worthwhile enlightening them how much having a parasitic PPC roaming their car park and issuing speculative invoices to their customers, will affect their trade and profits.
People will go elsewhere if they get charged a £100 surcharge every time they shop there.1
