My mum had a stroke last week and had recently put her place on the market to move closer to me, we got an offer on it today. Her stroke was not too bad she has her mind but a bit of confusion hoping it will improve. I didn't want her dealing with the hassle of the sale so I was going to she told me she had an lpa (lasting power of attorney) and I spoke her to her solicitors today who confirmed that however they also said it was not registered and then told me it taking 5/6 months at moment due to back log which is shocking tbh.
Has anyone recently registered an Lpa and how long it take for them? My mum is still of OK mind to me she knows she wants to sell and happy to accept offer but what is OK to me might not be for solicitors how would they check? To accept the offer on her behalf would the Lpa already need to be registered?
I'm not sure what to do it's all new to me I have appointment with her solicitors on Friday I will get the Lpa registered anyway but can't really wait 5/6 months for it to happen.
Thanks

There is no facility to fasttrack. Apparently it was discussed but the feeling was that it wasn't fair to allow those with financial resources to queue jump so we are all in the same queue.
I'm afraid you have no option but to wait it out. I'm sorry.

If you need the money from the house sale within 5-6 months then you really need to come up with an alternative plan as soon as possible. House sales can take years even when there is no disability involved.
Do you have your own LPOA in place? This is the reason people register LPOAs when they are still young and healthy, decades before they will (hopefully) be needed.0
