Advice on benefits

Hi, Ive been receiving sick pay for 3 months until I returned to work last month. my salary was low for 3 months and  Ive just thought was there any benefits I could have applied for. Is there any benefits do you think I could still apply for as a backpayment. I Was thinking JSA contributions but I wasnt looking for work. ESA says cant apply if on SSP. Hope you can help. Thanks

If you were getting SSP pay then JSA and ESA were ruled out.
And as you are now back working then UC is the benefit to look at.
You can't normally backdate a UC claim, and even then usually only for a month, but if you are on a low wage you may qualify ongoing.
Put your circumstances into one of the online benefit calculators and it will tell you what you might be able to claim. (I prefer the Entitledto calculator but whichever one you fancy, or do more than one to double check the answers).

You’ll also need to take reasonable steps to look for work.

If you have an illness or disability which stops you from working you cannot get New Style JSA, but you may be able to get ‘New Style’ Employment and Support Allowance.

...You cannot get New Style ESA if you’re getting Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) from an employer. You can apply for New Style ESA up to 3 months before your SSP ends.

It's called New style JSA now and you can't backdate this. It also doesn't apply now because you're back at work.

Should this happen again in the future (hopefully not, but just in case) then Universal Credit is the benefit to look into claiming.  No guarantee there would be any entitlement but it would be the only option in such a situation.
