Hi I am asking for a vulnerable friend. They are on long term sickness benefit. I think its £250 per fortnight. They own their own house. The are finding living on just over £120 a week in the current cost of living crisis unmanageable. Can you advise is there any thing else I can do to advise them? Thank you.

Assuming they have no savings a claim to Universal Credit may top up their weekly income, is it Contribution/New Style ESA that they are claiming and do you know whether they are in Work group or support group?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

I'd suggest you help them get a benefits check from their local advice charity.
They will need to have full details of their income, savings, circumstances.
Are they receiving Council Tax support ?
Have they applied for PIP ?
