New Probate tracking system... but inaccurate?

The gov.uk Probate system seems to have a new tracking system for online personal (not done by a law firm) applications.

It now shows  the following steps with a tick (or not) by them as below.

Irritatingly, it doesn't say that document have been received, even though we recieved an email 4 weeks ago to say that they had been!

And I tried calling today but the automated system only lets you (or says you should) go through to speak to someone if you've been waiting more than 16 weeks.

Is this new? Anyone else got this? Anyone else also got the same issue re docs received as me?

The same has appeared on my application. I have queried it with HMCTS via email but suspect it is not populating correctly yet. I have confirmation last month via webchat they have scanned the will.

I also have an application where probate was granted in 2020. On that one all the boxes are ticked.

I have just joined the waited 16 weeks club.

I posted mine a week ago and haven't even had the documents received email, though I know they have been as I've checked the Royal Mail tracking website and have a nice photo of a pile of crates.  So I'm also in the wait 16 weeks phase.  I'm not even going to try to contact them until September.

Mine still does not say document received. That's a worry then ... I know they have them as they confirmed via a webchat last month.

I have a probate approved email today but the tracking is still sat at application received. Perhaps it will update when the probate is visible to the world. Will check again next week.

On the old system my approved email was received on 5th April 2023. My certificates were received in the post on the 12th April and the probate account showed as Application Submitted.

Logging in today shows this after sign in:

Clicking on the case ID shows this for the case overview:

Hopefully the updated information on this will flow more smoothly soon.

Just checked again today and all four boxes are now ticked on my application, so it is updating. I have gone from just having application received ticked to all ticked in a day. I suspect that not having documents received ticked means nobody in the probate office has yet looked at your case, but the documents may have been received some time ago. Mine were there three months ago.

The will itself is not yet visible on the public search probate records site but I am not expecting that to happen until next week.

That's good to hear @Jowwie - I commented in another thread earlier that despite getting the 'documents received' email some weeks ago, it is saying that my application won't be considered until the Will is received.  I'm hoping that means the tracker is lagging (which renders it pointless really) behind reality.
