    After you reach state pension age you don’t pay any NI so you get no extra years added to your state pension.

    That's good news but you need to look at your pension forecast to establish whether you will get a full new state pension, not simply your NI record. 

    Also, you cannot exceed the new state pension maximum of, currently £203.85 per week, unless the transitional rules to move you from the old to the new state pension in 2016 resulted in a figure higher than the new max, in which case you were awarded a "protected payment", which will be paid as part of your pension.

    Finally, you stop paying NI when you reach state pension age, so working beyond that does not change your pension entitlement.
