Carers allowance question

Have gone through carers allowance application online there is one question on there towards the end.

Do you have a partner if so we need there details to check what benefits they are claiming.

I thought carers allowance is all about the individual and the person they care for. So why do they ask about partners. Name,NI,DOB, have searched online but can't find the answer.

Thanks

It's about both depending on which benefits you're claiming. Some benefits such as Income Related ESA/JSA/Income Support and Universal Credit are affected when claiming Carers allowance. They are just asking for details to check then no other benefits are being claimed.
