Laptop keyboard RIBBON CONNECTORS. Sorted :-)

EDIT: Had a fiddle, and found that the black strips do indeed lift-pivot upwards, the larger connector from the front (where the cable is inserted) and the small one from the back.

Best use a plastic spudger or similar - I used the ear-cleaning part of a Bic pen cap.

Halfway through replacing a keyboard on an HP laptop - all going smoothly so far. Some of the ribbon connectors were very obvious in how they opened - you could easily ping up the black clamps using a finger nail. Others are not so obvious, tho' - no ridge or flange to get yer nail under, for example.

Could anyone confirm how to do these, please, before I wreck it? Thanks.

1) The larger ribbon. Does the black thingy lift/pivot upwards? YES. From the front inserty side. (The smaller connector bottom-left had an obvious lifty clip which you can see up)

2) Smaller ribbon - again, does the black thing lift upwards to release it? YES. From the back.
