Experian Electoral Roll Issue

Hello All,

So Im having a current suitation with an electoral issue.

I've been at my current address for the past 2 years and was on the electoral roll the whole time until March this year. I realised my electoral roll was showing up on only experian and after doing some debuggin with Experian and my local council I realised that when my local council done an update the address was spelt in a different format.

I sent Experian my electoral roll number and they found out there was a slight variation in how the council reported my address to them and that's why it was showing up.

Experian asked me to do an address variation for the electoral to show up and sent me the following instruction...

From there, please click 'My Experian ID'

On the next page, scroll down to 'Your Addresses', and click 'Edit' on the right hand side.

From there, click on 'Contact details'

On the next page, please then click 'Change address'.

You can then click 'Add my new address' and confirm to complete

The change should update overnight and your details viewable after 9am the next working day, which includes any score change.

I followed these instructions however now when I look at my Experian credit report it seems like its changed the address instead of created a variation. Please see in the image below it shows that I lived at my 'previous' address for one month and this is causing problem with my address history.

Im about to make a significantly important credit application and im confused and abit scared to apply.

What address am I supposed to put now the new variation or the correct address as now it's showing my current address is my old address.

They are the same address but just spelt slightly different and now I don't know what address to put when applying because the variation address is not verified by the post office database.

Appreciate any help

So some insight. The current address in the photo is the address variation the address the council reported to the credit agency. The previous address in the image is my correct address and is the address that is on the royal mail database and my banks, official documents etc.

Which are you suggesting me to apply with?
  • Your current correct address.  Where you currently live and how it is correctly written.

@MorningcoffeeIV The current address is not my address. It's not even an official address. If you was to search it up it wouldnt come up which is why im worried about using it.

That's why I said where you CURRENTLY live and written CORRECTLY.

Any incorrect addresses, whether you consider them current or not, are not where you currently live.

@MorningcoffeeIV ok thank you that makes sense.

Can I also ask what you suggest I do for address history.

As now its showing I lived at an address for a month?

Should I just forget that month showing in experian
