PIP Award following Tribunal 10 Points
[Deleted User]
hello, following a lengthy process I have been awarded 10 points overall, 6 Daily Living and 4 Mobility. It is better to appeal this to the Upper Tribunal or to submit a new PIP Claim, if anyone can advise please? Also does the request for a statement of reasons have to be done via post or can I email a request? TIA

It's my understanding that you cannot take this any further unless the tribunal panel made an error of law? Is that the case?1

well it states you can ask for a statement of reasons before you appeal?

As Ruby says an appeal to the UT can only be based on an error of law made by the first tribunal (FTT).
Any appeal just based on your dislike of the FTT's decision will not be accepted by the UT.
First step in identifying an error of law is to request the S of R. However, unless you believe there to have been a legal error by the FTT, you will be wasting both your time and the Judge's time.
An appeal to the Upper Tribunal can take about a year.
It is advisable to get advice before you appeal, this is a specialised area.

Before you reapply you should get some expert advice to check that it's possible to score enough of points needed for an award. If it's not possible then it's pointless reapplying. https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits
