Afternoon everyone
Raining here started as drizzle but looks like it's here for the day now. I've been down to sit with dad this morning, though a bit later than usual as I didn't wake till 9.30. Since I went back to work on Monday I've been shattered and very achy...the rest of my day will be lazy.
Yesterday afternoon I stewarded at our local cinema for Allelujah...it wasn't what I was expecting at all and everyone sat in silence for a few minutes when it finished...worth seeing though.
I've read back, but seem to have forgotten what everyone said!
I know Bella is going to Thailand - so have a great holiday. My DD loves it there.
Little one is very excited as all the nursery children got an invitation to 'the Kings party' we're having together with big school. One little girl said she might be a bit shy to speak to the King! I explained he won't actually be here in person....
Well I'm going to move myself. Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Just popped back to wish Bella and Gers a brilliant time on their travels. The weather is appalling here with lashing rain and cold winds. Still it saves watering the veg plots at least.
DD brought me some super IoW tomatoes from the local farm near to where they stayed and they were lovely I had a few for lunch with a small salad as she is picking me up later to go to her house as usual for Sunday dinner tonight I believe we are having beef. I have made her a trifle as my contribution to dinner and we will have our Sunday tea time scrabble session before dinner no doubtWe love a game of scrabble and my son-in-law takes himself off to watch some sport on tv.
Hope we get some sort of spring as its been a very looong winter this year
JackieO xx
P.S DGS Mikey got back to Uni OK, and he has an interview for a part time barman job on Tuesday morning which he is hoping to get, as he moves out of halls and into a student house share in July. So I have my fingers crossed for him xx9 -
I don’t doubt for one minute he will get the barman job Jackie whoever takes him on will have a good worker6

Just popping in to say thank you so much to everyone for the warm welcome - and yes my username is from a very old Singing Postman song, I happen to have been born just down the road from Molly Windley
It's been rotten and rainy here all day, and I am trying not to fret about the hospital visit I had this afternoon, I've been waiting a couple of years for hernia surgery ( Covid got in the way) , and finally had an appt today, the surgeon agreed to put me on his list, but when I went to the nurse for a blood pressure/weight check my bp was raised, I suggested it might be nerves but she said that if my blood pressure raises like that with " normal life events like a hospital appt" I need medication......I guess she is right and I shall visit my GP when I can get in to see her. I guess it's good to know these things because now I can do something about it.......4 -

Do have a read of this - information about white coat syndrome is about half way down the page.

Firstly, not everyone views hospital appointments as "normal life events", if you don't work in one, they're unknown places. It's normal to be apprehensive before surgery.
Secondly, I had a pre-op the other day & the nurse doing my BP mentioned white-coat syndrome & said hers goes sky high at her Drs, so her colleagues take it for her at work where she's relaxed.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Our surgery nurse suggested I buy a blood pressure monitor and take a reading twice a day (at different times of the day ) for a week. I did this & although my pressure was slightly raised it was nothing like ones taken at the GP surgery.
They are widely available at pharmacies , Amazon etc.

Hi all,
Just wanted to wish @bellabella happy holidays x
Welcome @MollyWindley - I was going to mention WCS too but see others have done so.
I saw Allelujah @dp1 - agree that it wasn’t what I was expecting!
Good luck to Mikey @London_1
