Good morning, seems to be fine this morning after a nasty wet day yesterday.
Belated birthday wishes Poppy, and nice to meet you MollyWindley.
Sorry to read that your visit to BFF was difficult TA, distressing isn't it.
We bought a new microwave yesterday, after the old one stopped working and knocked out the rest of the sockets in the kitchen. It was over 7 years old and got a lot of use so we weren't surprised. We bought the same one to replace it, Pan*sonic combi.
An unexpected expense, but I would be lost without it, I do use the functions.
Various jobs to do today, we'll go over to the van with some clothes for our holiday, and there's the usual hoiusehold jobs.
Glad to see you posting Jackie.
Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off Scarlet - happy new microwave. My shopping trip was short and difficult. I'd forgotten how jam-packed Oban could be on a Saturday in tourist season. There was so much traffic going in, moving around and coming out, huge queues everywhere, even to get into the tip, so I did a quick grab and left. I have friends who live halfway down so called in and sat outside with them watching the boats and the tide come in. I left before the husband put his boat in the water as it involved tractors and trailers, low water and waiting for flotation.Despite the bad weather forecast yesterday was another glorious day. I'm now waiting for the awful stuff to appear. Today my car is being valeted, there's a chap who does mobile valeting so he's coming here. That's my excitement for the week. 😀
Don't forget the testing of the new emergency alert system at 3pm.Happy Sunday to all.12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Dry and bright again, the promised rain didn't appear instead we had a lovely sunny day but still with that chilly wind. Not to be so sunny today so will get any washing sorted and hung out once I've had a shower.
Didn't get any shopping yesterday, Lidl only had one cashier and a long queue, self serve bit asked me to wait for an assistant, no-one appeared so I left the shopping. Called at B&M for logs, one cashier again and a queue of about 20 folk - didn't bother waiting there either! So, shopping to do this morning, hopefully Aldi will be better.
Planted out the broccoli at the allotment, hope it's ok as the nights are to get quite cold this week, may go up and put a cover over it. Broad beans doing well although everything was very dry so it all got a good watering.
The living room is all clean and the furniture moved about, also lifted the hall and kitchen rugs and mopped the floors. Bathrooms and my bedroom to do today.
Welcome MollyWindley.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX11 -
Good morning chums, well the sun didn't last long here in North Kent, back to grey skies and rain again. My eldest great granddaughter is going to London today to see 'Frozen, the Musical .with her Mum and other Grandmother. Its part of her 5th birthday treat. They will make plenty of time, because it will be busy because of the Marathon and the extinction rebellion protesters. Hope they will wrap up well.
DD and my son-in -law are home from their break on the IoW They looked at a few houses whilst over there, and DD said she saw some nice ones.
She was also offered a job by one of the estate agents, as that what she does in our area to earn a crust. So its made her even more keen to move. I don't mind, just once my medical problems are sorted, i would move tomorrow to be honest.
We have both been thinking about it for the last couple of years. Her boys are mostly grown and flown Only Mikey left at Uni. Ben in North London teaching, Jack in Goudhurst teaching, Henry works in the city as a merchant banker and will be moving in August to house share with his brother in Hendon and Katie, her daughter, is married with two little girls, and teaches in Hoo.
So it will be just DD, Son-in-law , me and three dogs. But she has seen a few properties that look big enough. We will still have a four bedroomed house as the boys will still come back for weekends and holidays etc but we want to just be in a quieter area with a bigger garden for the dogs, and we know the IoW so well as my late husband and his family came from there and we spent a lot of time there over the years.
Looks like my decluttering will have to be stepped up a bitShe brought me some nice garlic mayo home, plus some fresh farm eggs and some tomatoes from the local farm shop. I look forward to having them in a salad or two this week.
Roll on Friday as I am supposed to see the consultant (fingers crossed nothing is cancelled again ) and hopefully he may remove the drain, which I have had in now for four months. I shall have a 30 minute shower when I get home if he does
DGS Danny in New York has been to baby craft classes with his wife Hayley ,and bless him was proud to tell me he can change a nappy. Not on a real baby yet, but on one of the dolls they practice on .He will have a shock when its a real wriggly yelling little human being I think. She only has a couple more months to go before the little girl arrives I have finished her cot blanket and DD is wrapping it up for me and will post it out to her.
I have orders for two more for my two other great granddaughters Erin and Ida, the blankets take around two months to make so it will be the autumn before they are done . They are quite pretty and are covered in stars, hearts and unicorns so I think Danny and Hayley will be pleased with them.
Right its time to get the kettle on for a brew. Hope everyone has a good day, and maybe the sun might peep out later who knows

Morning all
Pourimg with rain here and set in for the day 😩 OH can take the dogs out later !
The plastering went really well yesterday, OH did it all as it was easier for one person to do it alone, it looks very good and saves us about £250 plus materials so we are very pleased. I wheel barrowed a load of logs into the back garden they will need putting in the shed today, then I took the dogs out and came home and mowed the lawns so we were both shattered last night, there is another coat of plaster needed on a small part in the hallway which will need doing today.
Mum gave me a leg of lamb yesterday so that will be for dinner today, mum will come and have dinner with us I love lamb but it’s too expensive for us so this will be a real treat.
WM is on and doing its thing but the washing will need to stay indoors today, I need to have a clean through ready for my guests tomorrow.
Bella have a lovely holiday xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, & welcome Molly.Scarlet- the same thing happened yesterday with my air fryer & kitchen sockets! Appliance wise it's been a bad week as the oven is still not working, but just ordered a new AF, coming tomorrowBella and Gers hope you both have good trips.Jackie hope you get the drain out on Friday & you can get planning your IOW move soon.Only me and DH for tea as DS1 is out all day at a car enthusiasts thingy at Silverstone, he had a very early start so as Ds doesn't like prawns I think DH may make his signature prawn pil pil, easy to do, especially given my lack of appliances atm !DS2 may bring DGS to the park to test out his drone, so we may join them,DHs injection in his hip certainly seems to be helping his walking.Hopefully have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
