Shame the OP never came back but it's definitely sparked some debate.
Sssshhh, there's no debating going on here. Only observations aimed at specifically helping the OP understand the house-viewing process so that they can make an informed purchasing decision. ;-)

When house hunting I've pretty much decided before I view - the first viewing is more about ruling something out for some reason that wasn't apparent. For example road noise. So in this case 15 mins is fine to keep it on the whitelist or to be blacklisted.

Second viewing (and occasionally final) is longer, measuring, opening cupboards, checking services etc.

If a desk didn't fit, I'd buy another. Things like measurements are for a second viewing (unless there's a good reason like distance where you can only view once). If I found the desk didn't fit, so what? Sell it, buy another.

The vast majority of houses I've looked round have been written off within 5 minutes - and I have a long checklist and expect them to be right for me. It usually takes seeing a dozen or so to find one I actually want. It's not the finer details of a house I consider, it's the floorplan, layout, light, and the all important 'feel', etc. Anything else can be changed.
I think you can usually write one off within 5 minutes or less, but if it's more of a 'possible' then I don't think it's unreasonable to take a bit longer
Wouldn't even bother viewing if it wasn't a possible! Unless get there and find the rooms are actually smaller than advertised (or weird configuration not on the floor plan) preventing a bed / desk in a room etc etc. (Hence measuring before wasting time with offers).
