Morning all. Sunny for now but apparently showers all next week. I'm itching to do some garden, I've just bene to check my compost, 50 and 45 degreees respectively so all is well. I may have to rejog the porch so I can put my seedlings in there being as the lean to now has the enormous curtain stapled to the roof so the light levels are low in there. Birthday went well last night, I even won some games of pool - that was a revisiting of a misspent youth for sure - so we may go back more regularly. Tea tonight is probably breakfast, I discovered quite a few packs of sausages and bacon in the freezer that I'd forgotten about as well as some chicken and pork shoulder steaks. I just need to up the black pudding frozen quotient and we'll be sorted for breakfasts for weeks. I might do a curry tomorrow so poring through the curry cookbook is on the cards today as well. I'm also going to make a caribbean green seasoning to try being as I have the chillies for a change. I do love a food experiment. I'll try almost anything..except tendons..I don't want to eat tendons. Or tripe. BTW, when I say food experiment, I mean I'll be the one experimenting to try and make something taste good. Some of my previous attmepts have been shocking...Jackie, glad your GSs are such nice kids. TA, sounds very painful but it's one of those things isn't it where you have to decide is it better for you both to see her or not. And it's fine line between just enough and too much. I'm glad she;s being cared for though. Imagine if you were on your own like that. Confronting mortality is not pleasant even if you've had to do it before...Ruby, happy DIYing, hope the end results are acceptable
Molly, I remember, but I always read your name as MollyWindy, which sounds very exotic in a northern kind of way
Anyway, enough post alcohol waffling, shout out to the missing, especially nanny, and take care all...

Afternoon all, just having a breather after our early start watching DGSs football. We picked them up at 8.15 to travel towards M/cr. Honours even so not a bad result. This afternoon we pick them up again to go and watch our town team & later we are going to a music bash at Godsons studios, a busy day- we'll be shattered laterThe tribute to my ex SILs DM was lovely yesterday, although it was very windy in the churchyard but at least the rain kept off. She had ordered a rowan tree that was planted up the day before. It was nice to see some people we hadn't seen for ages too.Not sure about tea, there are pasties and stuff at the music venue, depends what time we get home from the match really.TA, sorry about your BFF, but I'm sure she was pleased to see you.Hope you all have a good weekend , bye for now x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
