Good morning folks, it's bright and cold. I'm off for a coffee.

Good morning, it's raining here, and yesterday was a grey, cold day.
I'm visiting a friend this morning for coffee and chat, then it'll be the usual household stuff, I'll pop back later to see what everyone is up to.11 -
Coffee made, coffee drunk.Making phone calls and writing emails took up time yesterday, all very productive too. I did a quick trip into town for some greens then found that the local garage had some crispy rolls in stock. They are a particularly Glaswegian item so seeing them here was great. Last month the firm almost closed down which genuinely sent shock waves around the area.A neighbour dropped in for an impromptu chat. He and his wife had spent five weeks pottling around Spain with their sprocker and was keen to tell me about it. It was a really enjoyable time, tea and chat with a dog sitting on my feet with one of my slippers in its mouth. My front door was wide open so the sun was pouring in.All that meant that I didn't do much else. Today will be different. 😂 The good weather is forecasted to leave us by tomorrow with cold weather due on Sunday for a week.I hope that all our poorlies are holding up. Happy Saturday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks for the start GERS. It's raining here too and forecast on and off most of the day. Nice Spring weather is a long time coming.
Yesterday's visit to see BFF was not a very pleasant one. She wasn't as confused as I expected, more like forgetful but it's so sad to see her now. She was always so active and is now confined to bed relying on carers, Dh or family members to do everything for her. There is no self pity though, she is stoically accepting what is happening to her. After nearly 3 hours I was drained and when DD came back to pick me up she suggested we go to the carvery for lunch knowing I wouldn't feel like cooking. It was as yummy as usual and I even found room for a pudding (sticky toffee pud & custard)
I am supposed to be going down town this morning to collect my new specs (plus a few other bits) but this rain isn't tempting me out. I may just wait for it to ease off a bit. There are always odd jobs to be done in the meantime!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all and stay safe xx

Morning All
Dry and bright this morning but not as sunny as it has been. Washing should dry outside, it's doing it's thing at the moment.
Glad you got to see your friend TA, so sad but sounds like she is being well looked after.
Enjoy your chat Scarlet.
Hope you got your slipper back Gers!
Allotment and shopping this morning - no swimming, I'm having a rest! Planning on giving the living room a good clean and change around this afternoon unless something better comes along. Housework has been a bit lacking the last couple of weeks with swimming every night so it's long overdue.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX11 -
Morning allI can only imagine how hard your visit to your friend was TA xNo rain today after the deluge of yesterday. Nothing exciting going on here apart from changing the bed and making a lemon cake as I didn't win the Euromillions!! I found a beautiful bungalow to buy too. It only needed an indoor swimming pool built as I was going to teach myself to swim without any onlookers '-)Hugs to all x10

Morning all
Dry here for now but rain due later, the log man in coming this morning with a load of logs for us, I don’t think we have ever had the fire going this late in the year.
We are going to attempt to plaster over the fireplace in the study today so that it’s ready for the decorator, the last owner of the house put some kind of sand paint all over it and it’s very rough and with chunks missing where we took his horrible hm mantle off, I have bought a lovely piece of old oak from an architectural yard to go up once it’s decorated, neither OH or I have plastered before so it might be interesting !
Pork fillet for dinner tonight will think of what I’m going with it during the day, will have a quick clean round this morning.
TA that must have been so sad seeing your dear friend like that, sending hugs and love to you xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
I really hope it's okay just to jump in and join in, if not I can always work out how to delete this ( hopefully!)
I think I've posted here once before but not enough for anyone to ever remember me
The sun is shining here in Norfolk, I don't know for how long but I have hung out washing and am now just having a second cup of tea before I brave it up to sort through my wardrobe and stick some stuff on ebay - I'm an awfully slow ebayer it takes me ages to take the photos and write the descriptions, but I figure every little helps etc etc
TA I am sorry about your friend, one of my closest friends had a minor stroke eight years ago, and she now has long term post stroke fatigue, we can see each other but only for about twenty minutes to half an hour, as it just wipes her out. She's a wonderful person and is doing a great job of putting boundaries in place so she doesn't get totally exhausted, but I am always mindful that just by being my bouncy enthusiastic self I can easily tire her out.11 -
Good Morning chums ,a nice dry day at the moment here in Kent youngest DD Tessa and son-in-law Simon are on their way home from their break on the IoW today so I shall see her tomorrow for dinner .
Eldest DD Shelley and son-in-law Ashley are in Deal at their caravan for the weekend.
DGS Jack is due shortly with doughnuts from the local bakers shop Boyce's they do pretty decent ones and he likes to sit and natter and tell me about his week.
He teaches at a boarding school in Kent, and it is a semi-residential job,but manages to get home for weekends. He will also inspect the mini veg patch that he and his brother dug out in my garden They are growing spuds and onions, their first attempt at gardening and they are really keen
Ben his elder brother teaches in north London and has got the children in his year five enthusiastic about growing their own stuff .So today its likely that several parents in Hendon will be dragged to a garden centre to buy seed spuds and onion sets:)
Jack said he is going to try and grow something at his house at school, as he house shares with two other young people One South African chap of 18, and an Australian lass of 19 both on gap years from their respective countries.
Jack is 22 and said he feels like an old man compared to themhe keeps them in order and makes sure they are home safely in the evening
His young lady of the moment Margo, thinks its a hoot that Jack is their 'father figure' He enjoys living at the school and gets on pretty well with the children there
A lot are from overseas and only get to see their parents in the summer holidays which is sad so Jack is often their go-to big brother as well as their teacher.
But coming from a family of three brothers and a sister he is quite used to lots of children bless him.
Well time to get the kettle on for our cuppa to add to the doughnuts, hope everyone has a good day and the sun shines down on you as well. high time we had some spring like weather and get rid of the grey skies and rain
Cheers chums
