Blue Badge renewal

I have been trying to renew my Blue Badge online for almost 2 weeks. I answer the question 'What are the main reasons you need a Blue Badge', then receive the message
Something went wrong. We're currently experiencing Technical difficulties. Please try again later. I have sent an email to Ble Badge at the Department of Transport, no reply so far. I left a message on my Local Councils Mobility line asking for help, no reply there either. Does anyone have any idea what I can do.

Have you tried using another device? Or tried clearing your cookies on your browser. I did mine last week online with no problem. If you try again and get the same it sounds something is going wrong your end.0

Hi, have you been trying to renew online via the government website?
https://www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge
It says you can either apply or renew on that site.
If that is the website you have been using, if you scroll down, at the right hand side it says 'report problems with this page' and you can click on that to tell them about the problems.
When I clicked on it (to test it), I was directed to my local council.
I think you should try applying to renew on your council's website again. If the website isn't working, I'd phone and wait to speak to a person and then report that the site isn't working and you need to renew your blue badge without further delay. Our council will not let us leave any voicemail messages and it's really frustrating so I'm surprised that your council has that facility.
If all else fails, have a google on the council site to see who exactly is in charge of the council department you need and phone them. I've found that doing that works much better than sending emails. Those big bosses don't like being bothered by customers.
All the best to you, I hope you manage to get a renewal application in soon. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Verify everything in order to protect yourself as you are responsible for any action you consequently take.0 -
It must be your LAs website because i've just started a claim on my LAs website to see if there's an issue and everything is as normal. You'll need to contact your LA. You can ask them to send you a form by post.

I renewed my mothers badge on line with little problem - seem to recall that when I input her postcode it directed me to her councils site; only issue I had was with certifying her ID as she no longer has a valid passport or driving licence so it meant going through a few box files to find her birth certificate0

You could maybe try and find an e-mail address for the right department of your local council. If you got a confirmation e-mail from them last time you applied, that might point you in the right direction.0

It doesn't sound like a problem with your device, but it doesn't hurt to try a few things.Restart your device, if it's a Windows PC/Laptop then use 'Restart' and not 'Shutdown'. ('Restart' clears more on Windows these days than a Shutdown does).
Doing a 'Restart' occasionally (at least once a week) is always a good idea with a Windows computer. As others have suggested; clear out your browsers cache, cookies, etc. Google for how to do that for your particular browser if you don't know already.
(If you want to get a bit more drastic then 'Refresh' or even 'Repair' the browser, again see online for how to do that).Use a different browser if you have one installed, some websites don't play well with certain browsers but are fine with others.Try a different device if you have access to one.
