were to go this sat

Hello

Me, Girlfriend, mate and his girlfriend are going to go away for the day on Saturday but cant decide where.

We are from the West Yorkshire area and are looking within around 100 miles would be nice to be near sea but please don’t recommend Scarborough because York racing is on and traffic will be horrendous on A64

Any ideas all will be welcome and thought about.

OK radical suggestion for what to do with yourself at weekends. Are you all under 25, if so what about youth hostelling? They have introduced an under 25 membership this year which I think is £10 but gives you loads of discounts. Rooms vary from hostel to hostel but for adults its about £15 a night. I think you qualify for a discount if you have a student card. You can either self cater or have your meals at the hostel.

What I tend to do is realise we have a free weekend coming up or even just a Saturday, go to the website and see where we want to go, email the nearest hostels and see who has rooms available. This weekend I only booked 4 days beforehand, we had a chose of three places in the region where we stayed and the one we chose was only £35 a night for 3 of us.

You could, for instance book rooms at York YHA, loads to do in York, daytime and night, but not have to worry about driving home in the evening.
    Just a suggestion
