I suspect the next item you will receive will be a N1 claim form.

    Hi Everyone, @Umkomaas, @Le_Kirk

Finally i did receive a reply from Gladstone Solicitors and they are asking me to pay £170 to their bank account. See the full reply

    *********

Further to your recent correspondence, we refer you to the IPC code of practice Part E Schedule 5. This confirms the following:

‘Parking charges must not exceed £100 unless agreed in advance with the IPC. Where there is a prospect of additional charges, reference should be made to this where appropriate on the signage and/or other documentation. Where a Parking Charge becomes overdue a reasonable sum may be added. This sum must not exceed £70 (inclusive of VAT where applicable) unless Court Proceedings have been initiated.’

As per our clients response to your appeal, our client remains satisfied this charge was correctly issued and you are liable.

Should full payment fail to be discharged before the 19th July 2024, our client reserves the right to issue further legal proceedings against you without further recourse to yourself.

    **************

So, what should be my next steps ? Do i ignore this or reply with disputing the claim? Please suggest

Same as all the other cases at the same stage. Search the forum for:

    report Gladstones VAT concerns

Tell us when you've done the HMRC report.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the reply, I have reported the Gladstone Solicitors to HMRC for VAT fraud.

Do i need to reply to their email or wait for court claim notice to arrive?

19th July is the last date to pay as per the email from Gladstone which i am ignoring of-course.

Just wait patiently for a Claim Form to drop through your letter-box.

The second post of the NEWBIES thread offers good guidance on how to deal with that when it happens.

Too late now but it was not VAT fraud but VAT concerns!

  • Just to update i haven't had any further communication from GLADSTONES Solicitors or any Claim Form. It's been more than 4 months and no movement! Have dropped the claim?

They have six years from the date of the parking incident to raise a claim.

I have a friend whose LBC was 10 months ago. Silence so far. I did tell him that a favourite tactic of roboclaim parking 'legals' is to issue claims in early December, to catch people out over Christmas.  They issue shedloads at that time of year.
