Amazon marketplace seller has sent only half the quantity

I ordered 50 Wago connectors from Amazon marketplace, but the seller has sent only 25. He has done that to a fair number of customers. More details here:

He may have mispriced the item, and he's simply sending out 25, rather than 50, so he doesn't lose money. Is there any way to get Amazon to intervene and get him to send the correct number?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Have you reported it to Amazon? They're pretty good if you can get them on a live chat2

As above get Amazon on live chat , they are always very helpful once they understand the issue.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the advice. The seller has now issued a refund of half the price I paid. Whilst that’s not as good as sending the correct number of items, I think it is a reasonable compromise. So, I will leave it there. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?3

That's probably a good result as it saves a bit of effort trying to get Amazon to help.GDB2222 said:Thanks for the advice. The seller has now issued a refund of half the price I paid. Could this be a private seller? Did they describe the item in more detail under the "see buying options" section. I ask as I am on there as a private seller, and when wanting to list one item I could not see the quanitity I wanted to sell, only greater quantities. Only business sellers are able to create listings so that may be why a different quantity was stated.

Sellers must list against the catalogue though, so if the catalogue said 50 pieces then they can only sell that quantity.Buster_Danog said:Could this be a private seller? I agree. Just wondered if the seller had described the quantity in their own description.

I’m not sure how that would help though ven if they had mistakenly thought they could over ride the catalogue.Buster_Danog said:I agree. There is nowhere for the sellers to have "their own description"?soolin said:

Some put it on the "Condition" part. So where it says new, used, etc.. Sellers have been known to put info on there that states the item is different. It's not the right thing to do, that's supposed to be for things like "torn cover", "missing tags", things related to the condition of the item.GDB2222 said:

Catalogue items can change for any number of reasons. It may well have been that the original item was 25 and another seller managed to change it to 50. An unlikely scenario but it does happen.
