Do not know what happened, my computer recognise my external drive as recovery drive and cannot access my data. The memory is 50% so the data is still there but cannot access it. Pl can somebody help. I find these external drive are not reliable I have got another one who plays up as well. Thanks.

There's nothing wrong with external drives, my oldest is probably best part of 15 years old by now, but still works. If you look after them and stop them rather than just pulling them out of the USB port, you wouldn't have any problems.https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva might be of interest.depending on the type of external drive you have I(ie desktop or mobile) and whether you have a computer or a laptop,, this may be indicative of a power problem.0
