Crazy bill from EDF

Just submitted a meter readings with EDF and I’m in absolute shock even though we pay £266 a month they say we are still £836 in debt. I truly cannot believe this our bills have come from £90 a month to £480….. This surely cannot be correct. We had six solar panels fitted last summer Which obviously all not doing anything I am genuinely scared as to how we are going to pay this
I live in a three bed semidetached two adults three children, but we are so careful with what we use only have the heating on an hour in the evening and the morning and turn everything off at the wall. I do not understand how the government think people are surviving because we are struggling and we both work 😢😢

The problem with EDF is that you need to monitor and calculate your own use to avoid this type of bill shock at the 6 month point. What were your meter readings at the last billing and at this ? Were they both provided by you ? You need to stop looking at £s and concentrate on the kWh but a £90 monthly average use at the end of 2021 is now around £300.

Octopus have the best export tariffs for Solar, you should move to them as soon as the debt is clear. Is that 400w panels so 2.4kwh system? That would make around 2000kwh more than halving your electric bill. If average use.
What is your annual estimate for electric and Gas?0 -
Is this a catchup bill after several estimated ones ?
Have you a bill/statement from about 12 months ago ? Then you will be able to work out your annual consumption.
I presume gas and electric.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
