What do you mean by the "Nil kWh cap" and "m cap"?

I think what you are looking for is in the Ofgem website where you should search for "default tariff cap level" which will lead to the spreadsheet which is the basis of the price caps.

For example the values for April 2023 are at the link near the bottom of this page (click default tariff cap level:1 April 2023 to 30 June 2023) to get them in a PDF or use the link below it if you want it in spreadsheet form

It's the maximum a utility company can charge for standing charges

Surely this is as simple as if you know the standing charge (which should be shown on the bill) just multiplying it by the relevant number of days for the period you are interested in?

It could be to compare what the actual charge was against the capped amount.

Octopus discount the cap by roughly 4% for duel fuel - so its not strictly on every bill.  The discount split in p far closer than the ratio of gas and electric SC rates.

And for OP - remember the nil kWh table is annual ex VAT - as it is for the business use - not the retail  / home customers.

To be fair, the tables aren't really meant for consumers.

But I do also find it annoying the old tdcv tabulation doesnt match the current cap for SR electric (3100 vs 2900) and as total amount includes the SC.

For SR and gas - EDF tables are much better format for consumers.  Even for e7/e10 etc standing charge but not the unit rates that vary significantly between suppliers and regionsl
