Airpod Pro - replacing lost charging case

During my travels through various planes/trains/automobiles today I've lost the charging case for my Airpod Pro's so 3 questions to the knowledgeable

1) From Find my iPhone I can only track the pods themselves, not the case ? or is there a way of tracking the case ?
2) Is the 'Pro' case the same as the standard case or is it specific for 'Pro'
3) Is there any benefit in buying a genuine vs copy replacement ?

1) First gen no, Second gen yes

2) Its specifically Pro just as some are specific to a generation because they have molded tops that fit the shape of the bud and stem length

3) Wasnt aware of 3rd party ones being available

Which might help me justify a replacement 2nd Gen pair rather than sharing these with teenager

Assumed so - but Apple/John Lewis only advertise one case - so presumably non-Pro

Plenty on Amazon for sub £40 - and none of them Apple

The one that JL advertise will be for the 1st Gen non-Pro as they came with a wired only case when released and then at a later date they offered a wireless charging when it was introduced as an upgrade. 

Contact Apple or an authorised repairer, the cost of a replacement as part of a lost/damaged item is often a different price to something being sold as an upgrade.

People tend to lose the pods first so check out eBay auctions for genuine cases.

I am - but struggling to understand how to check that a case is genuine

Sometimes you just have to take a punt, but not for too much......That said, I'd give apple a call and get a costing, it may not be as much as you think.....I take it you don't have Apple care?
I'd also give some thought to one of the cases sold on Amazon. They'll be half the price and you can send them back if you aren't happy.
