Hotels / Places to eat Excel London

Hi,

I’m travelling to London in a couple of months for work. I’ll be going to the Excel for an event there so would like to stay close by.

Any recommendations for reasonably priced hotels and also restaurants for the evening. I’ll be there for two nights and travelling with a colleague who’s vegetarian so good veggie food options too.

We’ll be travelling into Euston and arrive around 3pm on the first night then train leaves at 1/1.30pm on the return leg so also need time to get back to Euston if leaving excel around 12 on final day

The Novotel is beside Excel but even though it is nothing wonderful its prices vary upwards depending on how popular the event at Excel is but it is certainly convenient, and as I recall the food wasn't bad either. There is a half-decent pub, the Fox, right outside on the bridge into Excel that does pub meals, my other half is veggie so there can't have been any issues or I would have suffered! 

The only issue with Excel is the public transport, you are dependent on the DLR, in your case, you need to take the northern line, the city branch since there are two at Euston and change at Bank to the DLR going in the direction of Beckton. At certain times of the day you may need to change along the way but providing it is not misbehaving you should be able to make the journey in less than 1 hour
