Smoke smell - Sage

Hi,
We have viewed a house which we thought smelt of cigarette smoke, however the estate agent has spoken to the vendor who says they don’t smoke, they are spiritual and the smell was burnt Sage.
how easy is this smell to remove (assuming it is burnt sage).

My questions are if this is the case, is this a smell which should stick? Or if we view again in a few weeks should it have gone?
If not and it does still smell - a) is there anyway we can corroborate this is the truth and it is burnt Sage smell not cigarette smell? Is this something that would come out of a property survey?

I've never burnt sage but was getting desperate when selling our old flat and about to try it when I read that it smells really like cannabis smoke. There's a big difference between that smell and cigarette smoke.
Our neighbours smoke weed sometimes and the smell (which I despise) stinks out our house, but it does dissipate pretty quickly so I'd have expected sage to do the same. It certainly shouldn't be there after weeks.1 -

I once had a landlady smudge (burn sage) a property I was moving into on my first day whilst I had to follow behind ringing a bell. Apparently it was to get rid of the bad ju-ju left behind by the previous tenant. I knew then I wasn't going to stay there for long. Anyway, burning sage does not smell like the foul stench of cigarettes and no, smells are not usually noted in a survey.

It's a lovely smell I think and yes I agree- it'll very quickly dissipate (unlike cigarette smoke).

Being a frequent user of sage I can tell you that the smell won't last.Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.0
