Well, I can’t quite believe I’m writing this but within a few days of me submitting my complaint to Plum they have acknowledged a card was ordered by a third party without my consent and refunded my money. No information as to how they allowed it to happen but I’m in a bit of shock that they have not made it more difficult for me and so relieved! It begs the question as to why they refused to refund it in the first place but they clearly knew they were on a hiding to nothing and they knew it would have cost them more in the long run. Thank you all for your kind words of advice and encouragement x
Very glad to hear this - great result - well done @FavouritePJs ! :)

Well, that's a positive result with seemingly little resistance on Plum's part when you pushed back. If they refuse to provide a clear explanation of what went wrong, then, in your position, I'd be somewhat reluctant to use them in future.

Of course, the other concern here is what data of yours was known and abused by this third party, and if this might have implications for you elsewhere.

    Hi

I'm sure you've done this already but I'd check that nothing untoward has happened on any other accounts that are accessed through the same device. I'd also change the device password, change the credentials associated with all accounts, change your email password, and do a scan for malware.

Do you remember anything unusual, like potential phishing emails?
