AMEX default - will be 6 years in Jan 2024

Not unwarranted at all - I defaulted after missing payments and they passed my debt to a debt collection agency. I then agreed a plan with them to pay it all off in full which I did ahead of schedule. Obviously the default stays on the credit file until the end of 6 years from date of default but as I’m now in the 8 months of that and have a better credit standing (no outstanding debts and no late payment history for over 5 years) just wondering what they are like as I was keen to look at some of their reward cards.lr1277 said:This might be an unwarranted question as I don't know anything about defaults and how they are cleared. But the phrase 'tidied everything up' is a bit vague to me.Did you actually pay in full everything you owed Amex?
I have a Barclaycard World Elite Avios card too but trying to see where most value is from a rewards perspective and whether something like Amex Platinum is worth it for a year.1
