Incorrectly completed recall caused petrol leak
During my service I was informed my 2018 Mazda 3 needed a recall (pump replacement on the petrol system). Unfortunately whilst doing it one of the seals was left faulty. The result was my car was leaking petrol. This obviously cost quite a lot of money in petrol and has damaged the tarmac on my drive. When I had a chance to take the car back to the main dealer (who performed the recall) they sorted the issue for free. Should I write a letter of complaint? I don't want to destroy my relationship with the garage as they are the only mazda specialist near but I think the driveway damage is going to cost a fair bit to clean up/repair never mind the petrol costs.

I don't think the actual cost of leaked petrol will be that much, it will just seem like a lot.
If you're actually paying to get the driveway cleaned then speak to the garage and see if they offer a goodwill gesture to cover the cost, I think that's the best you could hope for.1 -
I'll definitely have to sort the drive as I'm in a rented house so I'm sure I'll lose some deposit over it! Dishwasher liquid and the pressure washer did nothing so I'll try a specialist stain remover before I have to call in the professionals.0
