Dilemma deciding on which Estate Agent to sell through.

    Personally I think a house sells itself. An agent needs to be really good at sales progression and vetting buyers etc, so I would see what they are doing after they find a buyer and pick the one with a track record for doing this well.

    I agree- a proactive sales progression team is vital (and to my mind, I'd far rather go with a traditional EA with a positive local track record than save money on a Purple Bricks type operation). Another factor is gut feeling- last time we went with the EA whose rep we took to the most when they came out to value (obviously we considered the whole picture- we didn't just go on gut feeling) but it definitely helped to genuinely like the staff (they were all fab as it turned out).
