Speeding penalty, silly mistake
Hi all
15 years on the road and I got my first ever speeding penalty recently. The documents sent through to me gave me the option of speed awareness course or pay a fine and get 3 points. Would be silly not to take the speed awareness course!
Long story short, the paperwork sent through to me wasn't very clear and I ended up paying the fine thinking I was paying for a course by mistake. I've realised straight away and I have been trying to call them to reverse it but they don't open until Monday. Can anyone advise whether they are likely to be able to reverse my error and allow me to book a course?
Frustrated and gutted.
Thanks

Similarly I doubt you will be able to get the penalty rescinded. But no harm in trying. You can only take one course in a three year period, with the offence dates being used to calculate that period. So looking on the bright side, if you don't take the course this time, you will have one "in hand" should you offend again (providing your speed is no greater than [Limit+10%+9mph]).1

Been driving 31 years now and only been caught once too0

Might not cause an issue, as such, but the "offence" will have to be declared for insurance purposes.

It's an easy mistake to make, you have never sped ,even by 1 mph over2
