Motorway quotes - slashed after initial quote?
Hi all. I'd like to get a quote for my car on motorway. But I'd like to know after you type all the details in, do they hound you with constant emails to sell within a few days otherwise future quotes will be lower?
I ask because that's what we buy any car did when I sold my car to them a few years back and they pressure you into selling to them that way ASAP. They initially quoted £1800 and then within a few days I got an email saying the same quote will be reduced by a few hundred pounds if I don't agree within a few days etc. And they reduced the price dramatically with scratches. Are motorway same?
Also do motorway expect 6 months mot?

They will only give you and indicative quote until they see the car, of course they are going to up the pressure, but that is the nature of the beast. Prices also go up sometimes especially over the last 12 months.
As for 6 months MOT I don't know but I'm sure I could find out if a read their T&Cs.

I would presume they’ll all operate the same way. Give a rough quote then drop it if they can find anything wrong with the car.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Motorway are different from WBAC etc. They give an estimate, and then get quotes from dealers, who may offer more (or less) than the initial figure.2

Once you have sent all the details they require, including a mass of photos, they have an auction day. At the end of the day they email you with the price that whoever won the auction is prepared to pay. The winning dealer then arranges collection and payment. The dealer can only change the price if something is revealed on inspection that they were unaware of.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. When I sold through Motorway I got an indicative quote. On the day of the aution it realised a bit more which was a bonus.Guy came to collect it, gave it the once over phoned Motorway and the money was in my account minutes later.Nice and simple.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid2

How do the prices from WBAC / Motorway compare to selling to a local Trader? The local Trader sees the car when giving you a price so no later knock down.1

I decided to try and sell my civic hoping to fetch £5000 for it after being quoted 4000 at a couple of traders for part exchange, but I'm getting loads of time wasters from auto trader because there are a few scratches on the car! So I'm deciding between evans halshaw or motorway but want to know what happens once I ask for a quoute.0 -
Get a few quotes but make sure you're completely accurate with the description and then it's difficult for them to find a reason to knock the price down.
I found 'sell my car instantly' on Autotrader gave me the best price by over £1000. It's operated by Manheim auctions and was trouble free.1
