Revolut Bank Account - Credit Search

Hi

I am thinking of opening a revolut account to load with cash and use on holiday.

However, we are also intending to apply for an a further advance on our mortgage shortly so I want to avoid any unnecessary credit searches if possible.

Will revolut do a credit search for opening a non credit account?

Be careful - Revolut are not a bank and therefore don‘t have FSCS protection.

I opened a Revolut account a few weeks ago and have not seen any searches, hard or soft, on my report.

Yeah I seen this point when looking into them.

I’d only be using it purely as a pre paid card to use on holiday, I’m not intending to use it to hold cash in for any period of time

Worked fine for me on a recent European holiday for day-to-day transactions. Only limit that was an issue was the £200 ATM withdrawal limit (before fees kick in) when I needed more than this in cash. Chase debit card sorted that out (£500/day up to £1500/mth).

My other use for this account is it's 1-time use virtual card, useful for 1-off online purchases.

EDIT : Your original question - no hard credit search.

They don't provide credit, so no credit check.
