I bought it in January '06 and I don't remember reading about that. I'll have to check the T&C's again then.
Oh, and I've just been looking at some interesting reports about their password problems:

Seems like a few people are unhappy about the whole business. It also looks like people with thier sites hosted with fasthosts are the ones who have had problems. Thankfully I've got mine hosted elsewhere so this hasn't affected me at all.0 -

Have you made sure you've got a valid email address under your domain registration contact details (not the same as your account contact details).
Personally never had a problem with the websites I've got hosted with them, the only people that do are the ones who didn't change their passwords when they were asked to. It was very poor they got hacked in the first place but at least they're taking the proper action now to prevent accounts being compromised. So far I've been really pleased with their service, in my experience they've been far better than any other registrar and host I've dealt with."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Yes, it's defiantly the right e-mail address. I haven't changed it in almost 10 years and I don't have dozens of them like some, so it's the right one! Plus it's showing in the top bit of the whole site, so if they don't know it by now... they seem capable enough of sending the invoice after the fact!
Everyone has their own opinions for every company they deal with. As I said, you may think they're wonderful, but I (and a few others, it would seem) don't. I've never had to deal with them other than to buy two domain names. I'm glad I didn't host my store with them as, even though many people had changed their passwords after the first "problem" they were still forced into a second password change and being locked out of their accounts. I don't know all the details, obviously, but if someone is that annoyed about this kind of problem to post on a blog etc, then they must have some reason to be so p*ssed about it!
I did look into hosting my site with them but it was just so expensive compared with similar hosts elsewhere. I tried a couple of different hosts before I settled on my current hosts. Plus, having my site hosted in the US gives me excellent value for money with the current excellent exchange rate! And it now actually loads faster than it did when I had it hosted in Birmingham!0
