Internal transfers would not require it because the whole point of the new regulations is to make sure that the ceding scheme knows it isnt going to a scam.
Yes - the whole thing has been very frustrating. I’m going to phone them again next week to see if the paperwork has been received this time.

If you want to know how fast it can go when it works well, I keyed in a pension transfer request at 2pm today.    Within the hour the receiving scheme (Aviva platform in this case) had messaged me to say they had requested it via Origo.   By 3.24pm the ceding scheme has messaged me saying they have received the request and are now working on it.     It should be with the receiving scheme in about 3 days time.  The delay being the two day settlement period on the funds being sold.

In the process of moving a pension from AJ Bell to Vanguard, will update on the timescales.
Hi, just curious why you want to move from AJ Bell to Vanguard. I've been reading alot of good things about AJ Bell.
The bulk of my pension is with Vanguard. I find the platform with Vanguard very ease to navigate and tend to trade ETFs on there platform regularly. Had no issues with AJ Bell.
