What is Origo? Is this a kind of funds transfer service?
Exactly that.

Not helpful I know but for reference both NEST and Aviva transferred my DC pensions in around 4 weeks0

Actually interesting for me (not the OP) because I have a legacy Aviva pension about £220K that I might want to transfer out some time in the next year or so.Pipthecat said:Not helpful I know but for reference both NEST and Aviva transferred my DC pensions in around 4 weeks0 -
I transferred an Aviva pension to Fidelity. It took less than 48 hours from starting the process, which is probably not normal, but shows what is possible .Pat38493 said:

Aviva are one of the quickest to transfer. Often within 3 days. NEST are a bit slower at about 2 weeks. Both Aviva and Nest use Origo. If the receiving scheme doesn't use Origo, then you can be counting in months depending on the scheme, following the new requirements brought in.Pipthecat said:Not helpful I know but for reference both NEST and Aviva transferred my DC pensions in around 4 weeks

I’m experiencing similar issues with my provider. I have to transfer a DC pension from a company I left to my new company DC scheme (I have very limited options and a year in which to make the transfer) and I’ve received all sorts of bad service such as:
1. Being told I could scan and email in forms when they actually needed a signature
2. sending in forms which were ‘never received’
3. lack of knowledge as to simple questions (such as what happens if the stock market crashes during the transfer) - I eventually got the info
4. lots of confusion about the requirement for a pension wise appointment. I went for an appointment but since no one seems to know how I can prove it, that’s just slowed everything down. Now I’ve just told them I’ve opted out.
The punchline is that it’s the same platform.
I started in January full of hope!1 -
4. lots of confusion about the requirement for a pension wise appointment. I went for an appointment but since no one seems to know how I can prove it, that’s just slowed everything down. Now I’ve just told them I’ve opted out.The requirements are new and some schemes will have minimal experience of them. Whilst moneyhelper is the requirement, it is an offshoot of the pensionwise style meeting focusing solely on risks rather than options. Once completed, you get a reference number and you give that to the ceding scheme. The punchline is that it’s the same platform.Internal transfers would not require it because the whole point of the new regulations is to make sure that the ceding scheme knows it isnt going to a scam.
