Second current account for direct payments

I have a current account already and don’t want to switch or move my direct debits to a new account.
I need to open a second current account to be used only for direct payments from social services. It would receive the regular payment from social services and be used only for paying carers direct or disability related expenses.
As I don’t want to switch I am unsure what is the best account to open that won’t affect my existing current account, and will run alongside it.
It doesn’t need to pay interest but I would like to be able to manage it online and pay carer agencies by direct debit.

Hi my la arranged the account for me and I got given a password and just log in and make payments to the agency. If I pay private carers then I need to use a payroll service who receive the money from my la and then make the payment on my behalf, they call it a managed account .

You can open any current account and don't have to switch.
I have 3 current ones on the go.

Your LA should arrange to open an account on your behalf and then they will send you details to access the bank account. This is because the LA will also need to have full access to the bank account to send your money and to make sure the money is being used as intended.

I arranged my own account with my usual bank. I use it just for Direct Payments. It doesn’t affect my other accounts.

My council don’t open one for you.
