Hi everyone,
I'm another who has been mia on and off. We've been having some family issues which have been taking their toll and I haven't had the heart to post. Hopefully they are sorting themselves out slowly.
We have 3 weeks until we go to Spain, I need to plan what I am packing, because we are travelling by trains every couple of days we need to travel as light as possible. Unfortunately it won't be guaranteed warmth or sunshine so we'll have to pack for all eventualities.
Laura, Brian and the children are now home so life is back to chaos, we love it though!
I hope all the poorly people are doing as well as can be expected. TA, I'm really sorry to hear the news about your BFF.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all. Supper last night at OHs mums was lovely. She did a Hairy Biker bolognese sauce and normally, I'm not one for other peoples bog sauces, but this was really nice. I didn't get round to cooking anything with leftovers yesterday, that's going to have to be todays job but I did throw the bone to the fox last night to watch him come and snatch it up and run away asap with it. Nearly finished the little blanket, just the final round of edging to do and I've used up almost all of the wool which is a bonus, no more bits hanging round. I did hear something about 18 degrees next week..blimey! really?! hope so!! Some of my tomatoes are up and the cheese plant [ how very eighties!] needs repotting and supporting. I've put the potatoes in the ground, this years variety, Pink Fir Apple, it's been a while since I grew them but I couldn't find Internaitonal Kidney by the time I went looking. Gosh I love an incipient summer weather teaser... Did I mention it's sunny at the moment? Bliss...snoozer, hope your family stuff gets resolved soon, and a train journey round Spain? exciting!! TA, that's the trouble with glasses, you can't go to the cheap places when you have so many additions to the lenses..it's a bit of a swizz really. NRA, condolences and hope your house goes quick, living in limbo or anticipation is tiring. camelot, seems to be easing off a bit then, long may that conitnue, or short really
Ruby, well done, but was there ever a doubt? I hope you catch nothing
Izzy, are you sure you can't go somewhere else for a few months? We don't want you in prison for muder now....Gers, glad you're infection free and the games were fun. I must say, going for an eight mile walk sounds like torture to me, I've never liked walking for the sake of it..but that's me..lazy...Anyway, nice to see some of you back, take care all, hoping for good things for the missing...

Hello from Penrith! DSis and I have managed to hit our target each day on this latest JoGLE jaunt - Lockerbie to Ecclefechan, Ecclefechan to Gretna Green, Gretna Green to Carlisle, Carlisle to Calthwaite and today Calthwaite to Penrith. The weather has been relatively kind despite the forecast. Only had to deploy our ponchos yesterday on the last of the days 3 miles trudge!
Onwards to Shap tomorrow!
I’m now going to read back on what I’ve missed. Please accept my gift of cows!
