Hargreaves Lansdown drops regular savers’ fees

HL didn't offer fractional units when I was last a customer so at over £83 each your £25 wouldn't be enough to buy a whole unit? Also is VWRP on the list when you login and try and setup a regular investment? This change may mean it’s now possible to just have the monthly £25 go into VWRP without any HL charges and skip the blackrock stage?
For what little extra they give VWRL/VWRP are too expensive for my taste (and the lack of ownership with Chinese securities is unsatisfactory - some awesome companies like Tencent but not aligned to my geopolitical interests) so I just hold dev world HMWO in my LISA and even then would hold the cheaper VEVE if it wasn't already in my SIPP.
The unit price for HMWO is currently still under £25 not that it should sway your decision how to invest...0 -
Good to see HL bringing down their (overpriced) fees.0

They've still got a big problem with the 0.45% on most of their accounts - their cost base and shareholder expectations are built on it continuing unchanged but a new wave of investors are savvy having started their journey on much cheaper accounts.Millyonare said:Good to see HL bringing down their (overpriced) fees.2 -
Yes, I don't touch HL with a bargepole. Way overpriced. But it's good to see their total fees starting to trend down (or less up).0

£45 pa cap on exchange traded investments in a S&S ISA is not a bad deal, especially if you get a few hundred pounds cashback for transferring in ( or did until recently)Millyonare said:Yes, I don't touch HL with a bargepole.
