MSE News: Government tweaks £200 Alternative Fuel Payment scheme criteria - check if you can get it

More households using heating oil, LPG, biomass and other alternative fuels can now apply for £200 to help with their energy bills. That's because the Government has confirmed it will now accept receipts dating back to 1 June 2022 as evidence – a three-month extension on the previous September 2022 cut-off.

That's very good news as I attached a receipt for July and up to now haven't received  payment.  Hopefully word will get out and more people will apply.

The previous Alternative Fuel Payment eligibility window was from September 2022. UKIFDA have shared more information on this update and how heating oil consumers apply:

 

This window has been extended back to June 2022 to ensure that households who purchased fuel in bulk ahead of the winter are able to receive the £200 energy bill support they are entitled to.

Are there any statistics about how many households, who do not have a gas supply, got the £200 automatically without producing any evidence of alternative fuel purchase?
There could be households who have used only electricity for heating this past winter, for whatever reason, who have been paid automatically by their electricity supplier and other households who haven’t received additional money because their electricity suppliers were not informed by the relevant Government Department.
If this is the case, there will be households who have either missed out or households who have received the additional £200 at odds with the original intention, compensating those who rely on the unregulated alternative fuel market ie oil, solid fuel, LPG etc.
