Mrc44 said:I’ve been trying to contact solar edge through the website, app, phone to no avail and it’s almost impossible to speak to a human being , the closest I got was speaking to Person in the USA through chat who couldn’t help me as the inverter is in the uk, they did say as it’s only 7yrs old it should be under warranty though. How I get in contact with the uk side of solar edge to report it I do not know.
I ask about time as I always figured if my inverter breaks and it looks like it's going to take a couple of months to get it replaced I'd look at buying a second hand one off ebay to get me by and switching it out myself. If mine broke between May/October, I'd be looking at £200 in lost FIT alone, added to that paying for ALL my electricity usage again at 35p a unit for the time it wasn't operational.

Mrc44 said:Hi all ,
Can anybody help me out regarding warranties on solar systems when purchasing property with systems already installed. The property has a system installed by project solar to which I have all paperwork/receipts etc and the FIT is all transferred over and has been running smoothly up until now we’re the system has suddenly just stopped working, having had a look it seems the inverter is completely dead (solar edge 4000) I have tried to restart it following the sequence of switching the dc/ac mains off and back on etc but it’s completely dead and no lights on the display screen.I have tried contacting project solar with emails and phone but to no avail thus far , my question is will I be covered by the warranty as my belief is the warranty is on the product not the person? Or will project solar fob me off and say the warranty doesn’t pass over to the new homeowner? I had read that project solar charge a fee of around £350 :0 for a technician to take a look at it before deciding what needs doing but can’t find anything about that or warranty transfers on there website.Hopefully someone in the know or has had to deal with them on here can help me out.Thank you
If not then, the warranty will reside with who paid for the solar. As a warranty does not automatically transfer to new owners.Life in the slow lane0 -
