Need to inform solicitors after death

  • Back again with an update.

I called the solicitors and explained everything very briefly and they said I didn't have to do anything, seeing as it was all sorted. Confirmed there was no inheritence tax because they were married and it had all passed to the spouse (top romantic tip for getting married ;))

They said if I wanted, I could send a copy of the death cert so they could log it with my dad's will but it wasn't necessary.

I think I will do that anyway seeing as it's easy, won't cost anything and might save some hassle down the line when my mum pops her clogs.

    Cheers folks
