Strange Tracker gas bill

The tracker gas bill I just received is odd. The daily gas used amounts are completely made up. I noticed it because my boiler broke so I used almost no gas for ten days and yet they say I used roughly the same amount every day of the month. It is correct when I look on the app but the bill listing bears no resemblance to the actual daily usage. Why would they do that?

If one or more daily readings are missing Octopus average it out over the month. The broken boiler might have made it seem like missing readings as it showed zero use?

I am considering Tracker gas, but my gas smart meter data seems a bit unreliable.

mean that I may not be better off as I could end up with a lot of averages?

Thank you. I don't know whether I should get them to work it out again because I may end up with a higher bill! But it does rather make a nonsense of the tariff if they aren't going to believe the meter readings.

No, it's still much cheaper than the standard tariff with the average being 5.2 pence per kWh instead of the standard 10.5 pence.

It usually takes more than zero readings to cause this, it is usually at least one completely missing half-hour reading.
Zero readings are normal for a lot of gas users, especially overnight, that alone will not do it.
