Monza bank account app

Hi all, I am after some feedback for the Monza banking app. Has anyone used it and would you recommend switching. Iv'e been with Halifax a good few years but Monza looks to be a good bank but not sure?

Thanks in advance

My main accoint is with Monzo and I think they are great, the app has all sorts of useful budgeting features and makes the apps of the old fashioned  banks look like something out of the stone age. There is also Starling to look at, they are similar but I wouuld say Starling are slightly better. Starling let you pay in cheques up to £1000 in the app but with Monzo you have to post all cheques. Also Starling let you pay cash in at a post office for free but with Monzo you have to do it at a Paypoint and they charge you. Paying in cheques or cash a rare occurence for most people but can be useful occasionally. I have a Starling account as a spare and would use them as my main account if I started from scratch, but the difference isn't big enough to make me switch from Monzo. In three years the only cheque I've had has been a £2.50 refund from O2 for a bill they miscalculated a few years beforehand.

If you aren't sure then why not open a Monzo or Starling account to try out, and then decide if you want to switch or not? You can request a switch at any time in the apps rather than doing it at sign up. You don't necessarily have to switch either, you could have both so you have a spare..

I switched to Monzo for my main account 4 years ago and absolutely love all the features, it would take a lot to make me change again. Splitting bills/paying phone numbers/pot round ups/scheduled payments pot are all really easy to use.

Yes, paying in cash or cheques would be an issue, however I just put these into my second account and bank transfer it to Monzo.

I’ve had Halifax/Barclays/TSB/nationwide recently and to me Halifax had the worst app but it is personal preference.

I still keep a second account that I keep moving around to get the switching bonuses!

I've recently opened both a Monzo and Starling account, of the two I prefer Monzo, I do pay for Monzo Plus which has more bells and whistles on it than the normal account and it gets rid of that awful bright orange card and has a nice Holographic card instead, I like the trends on Monzo and like looking where all my money has gone etc.Monzo also have an easy access saving feature that pays at 3.2% that doesn't seem to get mentioned that much on here.

I've found the Starling to be a bit boring , I like that you can scan in a cheque feature and also have a connected card to my account and helps reign in the wifes spending, I also use the Kite Space card to give to my kids also to see what they spend on etc, either account though is better than alot of the mainsteam banks apps which are just awful .
