Appeal rejected but charge cancelled?

Will keep this short but can provide more details if needed.
I received a notice to keeper (there was no windscreen notice) from UKPC a while ago. I appealed using the UKPC appeals system, and a while later received an email denying my appeal, saying I have 28 days to appeal to POPLA, etc. However, when putting the details of the charge into the UKPC payment website, it says:
"This parking charge has been cancelled. There is no outstanding balance."
I also tried scanning the QR code on the appeal rejection letter and this produces the same result. My question is, why is this the case if the appeal has been denied? Does this mean they will not bother to chase it any further, and I should simply do nothing at this point?

There isn't a separate POPLA code so far as I can tell. The correspondence says "[...] appeal to the independent adjudicator POPLA (Parking on Private Land Appeals) using the verification code provided above" but the only code present is the UKPC reference number, which is the same as the one on the original notice to keeper, and is the one I put into the UKPC website to test.Coupon-mad said:Is the POPLA Code recognised on that website?0 -
It's always in the heading on that letter.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yeah, that's the one I tried and get the "charge has been cancelled" message.Coupon-mad said:It's always in the heading on that letter.
I guess I just do nothing and wait and see then. Thanks for the responses both

No. The POPLA Code is always in the actual heading of a rejection letter. Ten digits.
Not the PCN ref.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There is definitely only one code anywhere in the appeal rejection letter, which was sent by email.Coupon-mad said:No. The POPLA Code is always in the actual heading of a rejection letter. Ten digits.
Not the PCN ref.
It's in the heading along with the vehicle registration number, it's 10 digits. It's marked "reference", and then later described as the "parking charge reference" in the text of the letter. It's identical to the reference which was on the notice to keeper.
I suppose it is also the POPLA code? If not, there is no POPLA code, because it is definitely the only code on the letter.0 -
Ah, looks like some rookie clerk mucked up the rejection letter and that's why they cancelled it!
No POPLA Code = a serious breach of the CoP so they had no choice.
Wonder how many they had to cancel due to that person not knowing what a POPLA ref is?!
POPLA codes are ten numbers with a 3 fourth from the end.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
