Suggestions for external caulk/ filler

I have an octagonal shaped "shed" which has windows on 4 sides. It is showing signs of rot especially where the lower edge of the glass meets the wood panel. Previously I have repaired these gaps with wood filler and overpainted but this doesn't last long.
Can anyone suggest an external type caulk / filler / grout material that is water resistant, can be sanded and painted ?

Beware, it sets very vast, so don't mix big amounts. They also recommend using some wood hardener, but I've never used it

I've been using that on our windows for about the last 20 years, and it does work if you get the timber dry first, and get plenty to soak well in.grumbler said:Alfrescodave said:I have repaired these gaps with wood filler and overpainted but this doesn't last long. They also recommend using some wood hardener, but I've never used it0 -
